April/May meetup!

Spring is upon us! Let's celebrate the nice weather with another meetup in the next couple months. Bemused_dreamer has suggested an excursion to Red Butte Gardens followed by tea as an April meetup. If we want to take tea somewhere as a group we should make a reservation so picking a venue soon would be to our advantage. I know that the Beehive Tea Room does group reservations as does Grand America (our meetup venue last summer). Can anyone else suggest a venue for tea? (Maybe outside of the downtown/central Salt Lake area?)

While vending at Anime Salt Lake I met several people interested in participating in u_loli_2 meetups so with any luck our numbers will grow in the coming months. I've emailed Chris and Xen regarding moderation so hopefully the posting/joining problems will be cleared up and we can get to know the new people attempting to become group members.

Hello! Justing jumping in here with a suggestion for the Tea Grotto. below are links to their facebook and some reviews. I think this might be a cheaper alternative to the Grand America (which we traditionally do in May). It is located in more of the downtown area though..

Just an idea.

Tea Grotto would be great; I haven't been to their new location.

Oh, and if people aren't into tea, we could try a bakery instead? Just did a quick search, and there's City Cakes and Cafe, which looks like specializes in vegan items. Never been though, so no idea how it is.

But I'm also good with Tea Grotto :)

And if people aren't interested in the gardens, we can try for something else. Like, if we wanna stick with animal themes, there's the aquarium and the aviary?

I love the idea of a bakery, it sounds really fun and cute!

Worlds largest dinosaur museum is just a little ways away and I don't know when they are ready but the same place has a very nice flower garden that you walk through. There is also a cafe/restaurant on sight and an imax theater. You know what that day could be a separate suggestion all by itself. Ok bookmark that for later. Bakery or tea sounds awesome. Is there anywhere that combines the ideas?

What day of the week were we thinking? I'm good on weekends but if it is on a week day I will need at least a week and a half to two weeks notice so I can ask for leave. I don't know what day works best for you all?

I'm guessing most places should have baked goods or tea/coffee, I'm guessing though that the quality of whatever they aren't specializing in won't be as good but that's bout it (ie: bakery might just have bagged teas). So it's just a matter of which we'd prefer.

I have to work on Friday and Saturdays and got class in the evenings on Wednesday and Thursday. So for me, Sundays - Tuesdays are good, or Thursday afternoons.

I've only just recently moved here, so I don't have any suggestions or anything... But I live between the downtown and avenues areas. I can pretty much attend anything I can walk/take public transit to! I look forward to meeting you all! ^_^

Don't Know is anyone else was still interested in this idea but the 26th (Friday) is Arbor Day. and Saturday the 27th is the last day of the Bulbs and Blooms Festival. Open both days until 7:30 PM. I Know it is short notice but these seem like good days. (event-wise)

I'm down for either date. Just gotta figure out the bus thing as it is much too far to walk!
